Meet Jenine Weinstein!
Where are your from?
Born in Portsmouth, VA in the Naval hospital, grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC and
now live in Sugar Land, TX just outside of Houston.
When did you join ZOX VIP?
What drew you to ZOX?
A convergence of things, actually. My step-son had just passed away at age 19
the month before, so I was in quite a bit of emotional upheaval. I was on
Facebook doing something, and I saw a live that Jason was doing. I was instantly
drawn to his infectious grin and kind voice. I found myself watching intently and
becoming more and more intrigued. Either that day or the next, I placed my first
order (and second and third). And it’s been full throttle ever since.
How did your collection start?
Before I was even able to get my order from the company, I searched Facebook
for ZOX groups. I knew they had to exist. Within a couple of days, I think I’d
joined 6 different groups. I actually got my first item from a fellow ZOXER in one
of those groups. The strap was “The Places You’ll Go,” because it reminded me
of my husband who is a mail carrier for USPS.
What's your favorite ZOX, and why?
Oh wow, that is tough. That’s like asking me to choose my favorite child. If I had
to choose just one, it would be “Old Crow.” That one just speaks to my soul.
Let’s say you’re given the opportunity to create a new ZOX product: what would it be, what would it look like, and why would you want it made?
Without question, as a serious collector of ZOX, the single most important addition to your product line-up would be a complete collector's guide, including every single ZOX ever made. The number made, the photos, the artists and the backstories would lend so much additional meaning to our collections. While this would obviously be quite time-consuming to make and to keep up, it's value to a collector would be immeasurable. I imagine it would have to be in digital format, as a print guide would be instantaneously antiquated. If you all would produce something like this, I (and so many other ZOXers) would be forever grateful. If you want to hire me to tackle this project (hint hint), I'd do it in a heartbeat! :) I need a job! ;)
What’s your favorite thing about being a VIP?
Two things: being the first to find out about all of the new goodies ZOX is putting
out and being able to connect with some really cool people. I have made quite a
few good friends through VIP.
What do you love about ZOX?
I love the culture of kindness and acceptance, the collectability of the items
themselves, and the way they seem to bring people together who share common
Which ZOX are you planning on acquiring next?
ALL OF THEM…cue evil laughter. Just kidding, maybe. I really want “Animal”
and “By the Night” to complete my MK Frisby collection.
