Story:
An Undying Passion. This design is a section of a non-representational oil painting that I created one summer. It started out as a cathartic experience created simply for the sake of creating and ended up becoming and embodiment of my interpretation of art and artists alike. There are no brush strokes because in lieu of a paint brush, I decided to apply the paint onto the canvas via a pallet knife and the end result was a painting with rich emotive colors and thick textured paint that stood a quarter inch off of the canvas in some places. I chose the title for this piece, 'Aeipathy' because I wanted to find a word that embodied the essence what I experienced while creating the painting. Aeipathy is dead word that in it's day was a noun that meant "an undying, enduring and consuming passion" and i feel that aeipathy breeds art. I hope that everyone finds something in their life that ignites a sense of aeipathy and that they use it to guide themselves to happiness and success. -Trisha Allen
