“I am more than what you see.”

That’s a powerful statement, and it’s so true. We’re faced with struggles that we must face every day, often alone, and it’s crazy how many people may underestimate you. 

Each semester, my best friend would sign up for the hardest professors. She took the classes no one wanted to take. She always started off the semester with a great attitude. “It’ll be fine,” she’d say. Then, when things got challenging and overwhelming, she’d start to doubt herself, mostly because people around her doubted her ability to overcome the situations she faced. 

Underestimation leads to doubt. But she remembered that she’d faced struggles before, and she would do it again. She’d overcome the circumstances and challenge herself to beat the odds. They saw a student stressed with school, but beneath the surface, she was a student determined to do well. Her stress was the goal of achieving something great.

Whatever it is you’re facing, you are more than what meets the eye. It may not feel like you have the strength to take on big things, but you do. When others underestimate you, I hope this powerful strap encourages you to look beneath the surface and see the strength you harbor there.
