How do we go about starting over? How do we begin again when all feels lost and there's seemingly nothing left to work with? In thinking about this Strap, I kept going back to Endurance, the Strap we did a few months ago with the quote on the back that says "We grow the most when things are hard."

In the past few weeks, we've been given a reset. A lot of us are going to be picking up the pieces of what's left and beginning all over as we rebuild what we had worked so hard to create... to protect. 

In my case, it's our business - protecting as many of our employees as we can so that they can weather the storm. In yours, it might be finding a new job after the one you've given years of your life to shutters its doors or reorganizes their staff for what they can afford. While all of us are going through different struggles, all of us also have a unique opportunity to start new once this has passed. 

Will it be difficult? Yes. For most of us, it will be absolutely exhausting as we go through sleepless nights, worrying about those we love. In some cases, it will be absolutely heart-wrenching as we may have to say goodbye... I know the pain is immense, and I wish I could put into words how much my heart breaks for each and every one of you who are experiencing loss. 

In speaking with Bradley, the artist behind this design, I learned that the flowers on this Strap are daffodils, a symbol of new beginnings. I love that. I learned that daffodils are the first perennial flower to bloom after a cold winter and are enjoyed in the garden most because of the vibrant color they add once they open up. What a perfect metaphor for what we're going through right now. Regardless the literal weather, the quarantine makes us feel as though we're in the middle of a worldwide blizzard and it's too dangerous to go out.

But blizzards don't last forever, and neither will this. My hope for this Strap is that once the snow melts and we can bloom again, we have the opportunity to brighten the world, together.
