Story:
Out of all four singles I designed, this one, in particular, was something I really wanted to share with you all.

Throughout our lives we find ourselves being bombarded by emotions. Sometimes things are going great - they make us feel like we're on top of the world. Other times, it's as if we can't catch a break - the bad news just keeps stacking up and it feels as though we're drowning in it.

This is particularly evident within larger life moments - losing a loved one, a messy breakup, or the loss of a job. Through our work with suicide prevention here in California over the past few months, we discovered something I never knew before - the leading cause of suicide in older folks is the loss of a loved one, followed by the loss of a job. It makes you realize that we're letting people get caught up in a moment of pain rather than encouraging them to give themselves time to heal.

The ZOX community was massively inspirational in this design - reading stories you all have submitted has made me cry more than I'd like to admit. One thing I've noticed when reading these submissions is the constant string that weaves them all together. Though each one is unique in its own way, the part that makes my heart feel more full than anything else is knowing that you were strong enough to make it through. While the situations explained within the stories are the most heartbreaking things I have ever heard in my entire life, perseverance is the piece that makes it inspiring.

That's right. Most of you don't realize it yet, but your stories inspire others to be strong. Even when I feel like bad news is over my head, I'm inspired by others who saw it through and came out stronger because of it.

If you're in a difficult place in your life and you need a reminder that things will get better, this is it - I made this little hug for your wrist, just for you. My hope, more than anything else, is that it'll help you get through those tough days. It'll be that reminder that things always get better. <3
