The Last Supper. The Last Supper is one of the most famous works of art in human history. Originally painted by da Vinci between 1494 and 1498, this more vibrant copy by Rizzoli is an accurate, full scale reproduction that was painted in 1520. This painting depicts Christ's last passover meal with his 12 disciples when he announced that one of them would betray him. As early as 1517, da Vinci's painting was beginning to flake as was described as ruined by Leonardos biographer is 1556. Over the course of the past 4 centuries the original painting has gone through multiple restorations, the most recent which lasted from 1978 to 1998 was based off of Rizzoli's copy.
