Memento Vivere Bracelet

While our first design in this series (Memento Mori) was a reminder that all of us die, this wonderful piece is a reminder that hits closer to home for me: Remember to live.

Covid has us all feeling a little off this year - if you're like me, every day seems to blend together as if nothing ever changes anymore. It's enough to make you feel like you're not quite sure what to look forward to anymore. 

That's where this reminder comes in - the encouragement to actually live. To try new things, to force yourself out of your comfort zone, to use each and every precious moment you have here doing something that makes you happy. 

You know last night, when I shot the preview video for this design, I ended up working til around 7:30 at night, with my kids going to bed at 8. I was encouraging other people to live but not spending my own time the way I want to: with my family. This design here has been a serious wake up call, even for me, that I need to live a life more fulfilling - one that keeps perspective on what's most important to me: relationships. 

None of us are perfect, we all have wasted time and focused on things that don't really matter. Maybe it's because we become so focused on completing something that we realize it didn't even make a difference in the first place, maybe we're too paralyzed by fear to move and so we decide doing nothing is the only safe option. Whatever it is, my hope for us is that this ZOX will get us out of that rut - that it'll snap us back into that perspective that helps us realize what's really the most important - a life well-lived.
